The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms in Powys.
The yellow 'severe' warning is from 2pm until around 10pm on Wednesday, August 14.
The national weather service said heavy showers and thunderstorms could cause flooding and transport disruption in a few places.
They added that there is a "slight chance" that power cuts and other services could be lost in some homes and businesses.
Isolated heavy showers and #thunderstorms may break out across east Wales, the Midlands and East Anglia this afternoon. Many places will not see these, but where they do occur expect torrential downpours and flash #flooding. Stay #WeatherAware pic.twitter.com/kPZUPL6eyp

"There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes or hail.
"Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and possible road closures.
"Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services."
