WELSHPOOL teacher Wayne Lewis captured these dramatic images as a US airman flew the Welsh flag from the cockpit of a fighter jet travelling at nearly 600mph.
Amateur photographer Wayne, 38, snapped the United States Air Force F15E 'Strike Eagle' swooping through Snowdonia National Park.
Jets often use the area for low flying at speeds of up to 575mph and 500ft from the ground.
His photo shows the airman in the back seat – the weapons systems officer – holding up the dragon-emblazoned flag of Wales.
Teacher Wayne, from Welshpool, said: "Maybe it's his first time visiting Wales or maybe he likes to visit Wales?
"I suspect he's enjoying the scenery."
The jet based at RAF Lakenheath, in Suffolk, was photographed near to Dolgellau.
