A 'serious police incident' closed part of the A483 in both directions.
Emergency services were at the scene of the collision which happened between Llanbister and Llanddewi on Monday morning (August 12).
The road was closed to allow the air ambulance to attend.
Diversions were in place and motorists were warned to expect delays in the area while emergency services dealt with the incident.

The collision reportedly happened at around 10.40am between B4356 and Dan-Y-Gaer.
Information released by Welsh Government's Traffic Wales at 2.56pm said the road had re-opened.
Posting on their Twitter page, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said that crews from Llandrindod Wells attended the incident along with Dyfed-Powys Police, Welsh Ambulance Service and the Wales Air Ambulance.
