A PRIMARY school at the heart of the community has celebrated its 135th anniversary.

Llandinam CP School marked the milestone event with a summer fayre and open day on July 18.

Past and current pupils and staff celebrated the occasion with a display of commemorative artwork and photographs of Llandinam through the decades, and dance performances.

The school’s anniversary was also a joint celebration as pupil Louis celebrated his fifth birthday with cake.

A school spokesperson said: “A massive thank you to Mrs Rowlands, Jolene Pullen (for the magnificent cake!), Friends of Llandinam, staff, governors and children for their awesome, hard work putting together today’s school birthday celebration, Open Day and summer fete!

“It was a superb afternoon,” they added.

  • A Bubbles and Balloon Fun Day will be held at Llandinam CP School’s pre-school setting Learning Tree on Thursday, August 15, from 1pm to 3pm.
