A woman has been left with serious injuries after a car struck a tree.
A silver Toyota Corolla left the A496 between Bontddu and Barmouth at about 12.30am in the early hours of Monday morning.
The female passenger was taken to Bronglais Hospital with serious injuries.
Det Insp Andy Gibson said: “We would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or the manner in which the car was being driven prior to the incident.”
“We understand the vehicle left the Barmouth area heading towards Dolgellau and would like to speak to anybody who may have dash cam footage from their vehicle prior to the collision.”
