POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault.
The incident happened in Newtown on Friday, August 2 between 8.30pm and 8.45pm along the footpath which adjoins the carpark off Short Bridge Street to the top River path (opposite the public toilets).
A 54 year-old man, who was in the company of two females and a dog, received injuries which required hospital treatment.
Three males, two aged 17 and one aged 16, were arrested on suspicion of assault. They have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Anyone with any information which could help the investigation is asked to contact police on 101 and quote reference DPP/5827/02/08/2019/02/C.
