CONWY welcomes Wales over the next week.

The National Eisteddfod, the pinnacle of the Welsh cultural calendar, is held annually during the first week of August.

This year it takes place in Llanrwst between August 3 and 10.

Attracting up to 150,000 visitors over an eight-day period, the festival is an eclectic mix of the traditional and modern.

It is a celebration of Wales, its culture and language.

Combining ceremonial and official activities with a dynamic and vibrant festival, the Eisteddfod offers something for everyone, whatever their age and interests.

It is a travelling festival, visiting north and south Wales alternately, and any part of Wales can apply to host the Eisteddfod.

This creates a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, relevant to communities in areas across Wales, with a unique local feel to the each festival, whilst keeping its strong national identity.

The National Eisteddfod is a wonderful shop window for everything Welsh.

The festival has a strong identity across the world, boosting and strengthening the Wales brand in every country.
