YOUNG farmers have financially benefited from this year’s Gareth Raw Rees Memorial Travel Scholarship.
A total of £3,600 has been awarded by the management committee to scholars wishing to broaden their knowledge of agriculture, following a donation from the NFU Mutual Charitable Trust.
This year’s awards were presented by Dai Davies, chairman of NFU Mutual’s advisory board for Wales, at the Royal Welsh Show
This year’s main winner is Ioan Williams, 21, from Llanymawddwy, near Machynlleth, who received £1,000 to help fund his travels to New Zealand.
Gwenno Evans, from Taliesin, near Machynlleth, also received £250 towards a five month trip to New Zealand where she will work on farms.
