Flintshire and Wrexham is part of a 45-hour weather warning with thunderstorms and downpours expected on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Met Office issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms for all of Wales and most of England from 3am on Tuesday until 23.59pm.
A second yellow warning - this time for rain - has now been issued from midnight in the early hours of Wednesday morning until 23.59pm.
The grim forecast comes just days after a miserable weekend that saw the region hit with persistent rain.
