THE newly elected Leader of the Liberal Democrats, Jo Swinson, has given support to the party's parliamentary candidate for Brecon and Radnorshire.

Jo Swinson joined Jane Dodds, the Liberal Democrat candidate for the Brecon and Radnorshire by-election in a visit to their campaign office.

The campaign visit, ahead of polling day on Thursday, comes as opinion polls show a surge of support for the Liberal Democrats.

Leader of the Liberal Democrats, Jo Swinson, said: “Politics is broken, but people across Brecon and Radnorshire can use their vote next Thursday to send Westminster a message that they want change by voting Liberal Democrat.

“The Conservatives are too busy pointing the blame at one another over the car crash that they have made of Brexit. People deserve better than that, and Liberal Democrats demand better.

“Jane Dodds is the only candidate that can beat the Conservatives. By electing Jane people in Brecon and Radnorshire will get a fresh voice that will always prioritise delivering for them.”

Jane Dodds, the Liberal Democrat candidate for Brecon and Radnorshire, added: “Time and again people are telling me they have had enough of being forgotten by Westminster politicians.

"Our communities deserve better. I am therefore delighted that more and more people are getting behind my positive plan for Brecon and Radnorshire.

“My priorities are clear; working with Kirsty Williams I would protect rural services, stand up for Welsh farmers and oppose Tory cuts. If elected as the next MP for Brecon and Radnorshire I will commit to work tirelessly to deliver that plan for local people.”
