A Llangadfan student who studied agriculture at a Newtown college was awarded one of the Royal Welsh Show’s top awards.
Fflur Roberts won the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society (RWAS) Student of the Year Award at a prize-giving ceremony on Tuesday. July 23.
RWAS Board member Susan Jones said that “after some deliberation” the judges had “finally decided on their winner.”
The Royal Welsh Welsh Agricultural Society Student of the Year was awarded to the NPTC Newtown College student by the society’s president for 2019 Seimon Thomas and his wife, Eleanor.
“I’m overwhelmed to win this award because I believe that after two years of college and putting all my hard work, I think it’s obviously paid off,” the Llangadfan teenager said.
“It’s given me opportunities such as meeting Prince Charles, so everything is adding up great on my CV.
“My local links with the YFC has encouraged me to take part and take every opportunity that comes my way.”
Fflur says she is hoping to study Agriculture with Business Management at Aberystwyth University.
