Neil Hamilton AM has been criticised by the Children's Commissioner for Wales for making a "personal attack" on Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg.
On Wednesday, July 24, the UKIP Welsh Assembly Member for Mid and West Wales Tweeted: "It's shaping up to be the hottest day of the year - please remember:"
"- No electric fans
"- DEFINITELY no air conditioning
"Greta has spoken."
The Tweet also included a photograph of of Greta Thunberg, with her eyes turned red, with the caption "have you done anything this week that Greta might disapprove of?".
He also used the hashtags "#ClimateHoax" and "#ExtinctionRebellion".

Responding on Twitter, the Children's Commissioner for Wales, Sally Holland, said: "I am mortified that a politician in Wales would make a personal attack on a child on social media in this manner. I have written to Mr Hamilton today expressing my disappointment in his failure to uphold high standards of public conduct."
Greta Thunberg began protesting outside the Swedish parliament in 2018 about the need for urgent action to combat climate change. Her "school strike for the climate" attracted international media attention and have spread globally; and even saw students from Montgomeryshire and Radnorshire taking part.
