DRUG amnesty boxes will be available in operation during Royal Welsh Show week for the first time, event safety organisers have confirmed.

The amnesty boxes, which will be placed on the approaches to venues in and around Builth Wells, are designed to prevent drugs being taken into the various venues during the event.

A spokesperson for the Builth Wells Event Safety Group said: “Having drug amnesty boxes available during show week is the responsible thing to do and standard practice for major public events.

"Both illegal and legal highs are not permitted in any of the venues in and around Builth Wells so there will be amnesty boxes at site gates and in the town for safe, discreet disposal.”
