A SECRET Art Sale, with artists providing original artworks on postcards sealed in envelopes, in aid of Celf-Able Montgomeryshire disability artists group, will be held at Newtown on Saturday, July 20.

It will be held between 1 and 3.30pm, at the Oriel Davies Gallery.

Artists are producing decorated postcards to be sold in sealed envelopes. There are also original artworks for a Lucky Squares sale and prints from Newtown artist Brian Jones, Brooks artist Linda Jane James, Celf-Able artists and others.

Another artist involved is the internationally acclaimed Andrew Logan who was delighted to have accepted an invitation to be a patron for the group.

Open to all ages and abilities, Celf-Able is run by disabled and disability artists and provides opportunities for people to get together and share and learn from each other.

The group enjoyed a visit to Andrew’s permanent museum of his work at Berriew and were inspired. He met them and looks forward to working with their as their patron.

Celf-Able are funded by Fund in Wales, Powys Community Endowment Fund, Powys Church Acts Fund and the Ashley Family Foundation.

Celf-Able regularly run creative sessions with the one on Tuesday, July 16, at Llanfair Caereinion Institute, and another on Wednesday, July 17, at the Ann Holloway Care Centre in Welshpool,

They will also be at the Mid Wales Arts Centre, Caersws, on July 24. Meetings are 11am to 3pm with art materials and refreshments provided with charge of £3. It is open to all ages and abilities to get together and do art, share and learn from each other.

The group are also hosting two ‘Beth Am Gael Tro/Have A Go’ workshops at Llanfair Caereinion Institute with Upcycling,11am to 3pm, on July 27, and Creative Writing, 11am to 3pm, on August 17.

Materials and refreshments will be provided, but if you have an upcycling project that you have been waiting to have a go at, bring it along for help to make a start.
