A ROAD has been closed due to a serious road traffic collision.
Emergency services responded to a two-vehicle crash at around 7.10am on Friday morning.
The drivers had to be cut free from their vehicles by fire and rescue crews.
The Shropshire Operational Patrol Unit have confirmed they are at the scene of what a spokesman has described as a "head on" collision on the B4386 near Lowfield, Welshpool.
A spokesman for West Mercia Police added: "West Mercia Police are dealing with a serious incident on B4386 near Lowfield, Welshpool. Delays expected. Please consider alternative route."
The road will remain closed for the foreseeable future and the Wales Air Ambulance has also been called out to the incident.
