A Welshpool man has been jailed for seven a half years for 'nearly severing' someone's nose in a nightclub.
Sam Williams, 25, of Gungrog Hill, was sentenced after trial at Caernarfon Crown Court on Wednesday, July 10.
The incident happened at the Molto Welshpool nightclub on June 29, 2018. Newtown Custody Sergeant PS Tom Marshall said Williams "nearly severed the victim's nose requiring stitches".
Williams was found guilty of wounding.
Inspector Jonathan Rees-Jones said: “The sentence given to Sam Williams is welcomed by Dyfed-Powys Police. It clearly demonstrates that violence and behaviour of this nature will not be tolerated in our force. Officers were able to identify Sam Williams as the offender of the serious assault.”
