MUSIC for a Summer Evening is provided by Cor Bro Hafren, the charming children’s choir, in the this year’s new Music Series at St Cynon’s Church, Tregynon, at 7.30pm this Saturday, July 13.

Accompanied by Paul Wardell and with their regular conductor Ann Evans, the choir perform a variety of English and Welsh songs, pop songs and fun arrangements.

Drawn from many schools in Montgomeryshire, the children, aged six to 12, meet on Thursday afternoons in Newtown, at Ysgol Dafydd Llwyd.

They regularly take part in the Montgomeryshire County Music Festival alongside the festival choir.

After an August break, the season will continue with a recital by local organist Aeron Preston at 3pm on Sunday, September 1, and will end with a lecture on Friday, October 18, by Dr Rhian Davies on the Belgian refugee musicians of the First World War.

Individual tickets to each event are £5. For more details, contact Suzanne on suzanne_edwards@btinternet.com or by calling 01686 628803.
