A FORMER Bishops Castle Town Football Club and Community College student is making a name for himself in the National Premier Soccer League in the USA.

Matt Perry, 21, is currently captaining the Demize club which is based in Springfield, Missouri and is composed of players from 18 countries.

They play in the Heartland Conference of the NPSL, the fourth tier of football in the USA, behind the MLS and USL Leagues.

The regular NPSL season ends on July 6 but Matt hopes to be leading Demize into the play-offs for the first time in the team's history which will be a successful conclusion to his time in the Midwest.

Matt is the twin son of Grant and Claire Perry who live in Bishops Castle, and he also formerly played with Churchstoke FC.

Matt has just completed his third year at Erskine College in South Carolina where he also plays in the Men's Soccer team in the National College League Division Two Conference Carolinas, as well as studying on a PE with Coaching degree which he hopes to complete at Christmas and then hopefully progress into the USL 2 Development League in 2020,

BISHOPS Castle Town Football Club has its first pre-season training session at the Community College ground next Thursday, July 11, at 6.30pm with new players welcome.
