Llanbadarn Fynydd YFC with a membership of just 20, and the smallest club in the federation, won the 71st Annual Radnor YFC Rally at Ackhill Farm, Presteigne, which was hosted by the Price Family and sponsored by Caleb Roberts Insurance Services.

Pre-rally competitions had been going on through out May and the hosts Presteigne YFC went into rally day in the lead. Over 300 members from across the county battled it out for their individual clubs in competitions ranging from stockjudging and shearing to flower arranging, cookery and singing. The standard of competition was exceptionally high, and the large audiences enjoyed and variety of performances throughout the day.

Radnor Valley YFC made a clean sweep of the shearing and woolhandling competitions, winning the five out of the five trophies up for grabs. Rhayader YFC won the Red Flame Productions trophy for the group ‘Top of the Pops’ competition; Teme Valley YFC won the Ian Inglis Cup for the pallet recycling competition; Hannah Powell, Howey YFC won the Caleb Roberts Shield for the year book cover and Katie Fairclough, Llanbadarn Fynydd YFC won the Andrew and Janet Abberley Cup for the solo ‘Top of the Pops’.

The top three clubs overall after the rally, were, in third place Aberedw YFC with 2,946 marks; second place Radnor Valley YFC, with 2,975 marks and the winners Llanbadarn Fynydd YFC with a score of 3,011 marks.
