A DRUNK father-to-be damaged his ex-girlfriend’s door after she didn’t allow him to enter her house, a court heard.

Tao Wedge, 26, of Nant Glas, Llandrindod Wells, pleaded guilty to criminal damage at Llandrindod Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

Magistrates heard that Wedge is now back in a relationship with the complainant in the case and that they are expecting a baby together.

Stephen Davies, prosecuting, told the court that the woman was working all day, and when she finished at 10pm she had multiple texts and missed calls from Wedge. He was drunk, and asking if he could stay at her house, the court heard.

His ex-girlfriend went to a friend’s house after work, and answered one call telling him he could not enter her house, the prosecution said.

He told her that he was outside her house and swore at her, Mr Davies told the court.

The costs to repair the damaged door were £100, which had already been paid by Wedge.

Owain Jones, defending, told magistrates that Wedge had also paid for the earnings the woman missed out on in missing a half day of work to get the door fixed.

“He did admit it was a mistake. He regrets his actions and is sorry,” Mr Jones said.

The defence told the court that Wedge was back with the victim and that she is pregnant with his child.

He was ordered to pay costs of £85, a fine of £80, and victim surcharge of £30; totalling £195.
