For one day Llandrindod Wells changed its name to celebrate Global Wellness Day. The town was rebranded as ‘Llandrindod Wellness’, as a place dedicated to living well.
The town’s project officer Jude Boutle and the chairman of the town’s Business Group Justin Baird Murray sought permission from the Llandrindod Wells Town Council to rename the town for a day to help celebrate and make more people aware of how great a town Llandrindod Wells was to live in, to work in and to rest in.
The new name for a day was officially announced by the Mayor, Cllr Steve Deeks-D’Silva and the town crier Janet Swindale in a ceremony at the Hotel Metropole. Then the celebrations continued at the Lakeside where the Bracken Trust singers entertained those present and a new project was launched to make it easier to reuse plastic bottles.
Refill Llandrindod is introducing refill stations throughout the town ahead of National Refill Day on June 19.
Cllr Steve Deeks-D’Silva addressed those present including a large number of children from the town’s two primary schools about living in Llandrindod Wells and at the end everyone walked the 3km and 5km wellness routes, around The Lake, to help keep healthy.
