In support of Wrexham’s Nightingale House Hospice, this year’s third annual Proms in the Park event at the British Ironwork Centre was yet another roaring success!

Themed around the classic Star Wars film franchise, the event featured an incredible line-up of musical talent including the leading Wrexham Symphony Orchestra who performed a varied programme of TV, radio and film classics, and special guest singer Rachael Marsh who wowed everyone with her incredible vocals.

UK Garrison, one of the UK’s leading Star Wars costuming companies, were also in attendance to help set the Star Wars scene with their incredible costumes and amazing performance.

They helped to create a truly immersive experience for all Proms attendees, and everyone was thrilled to get their pictures taken with some of the franchise’s most popular characters.

Strawberries and prosecco were in abundance, flags from all corners of the country were being waved proudly, and the spectacular igloo dome stage was beautifully lit.

Following the musical progression, the evening ended with a bang as a spectacular fireworks finale took its place in the sky.

Clive Knowles, chairman of the Ironworks, based near Oswestry, said: “This year we were honoured to be the only evening Proms event in the region!

“It’s amazing that we are able to hold such an event right on the Welsh border, where we can truly celebrate Britain as a whole by flying the flag for both Wales and England.

“A big thank you goes out to Derek Jones from the Wrexham Symphony Orchestra, who helped us greatly in organising this event, and to everyone else involved in making Proms 2019 such a great success.

“Again, we were very blessed with the weather and are already planning for next year’s event to be even more spectacular,” he added.
