Radnor YFC's Pre-Rally competitions, sponsored by Hay and Brecon Farmers, have been underway over the last four weeks.

The Dancing competition was first with 12 teams competing at The Albert Hall in Llandrindod Wells, performing a dance from a musical and a contrasting dance. Edw Valley YFC took the top honours once again, with Penybont in second place by one point, followed by Aberedw YFC in third place.

Next came the three Pre-Rally Stockjudging competitions. The Welsh Mule judging was held at Lower Hall, Heyope, by permission of the Lewis family, the winners were: under 16, William Davies Aberedw YFC; under 18, Ben Chilman, Presteigne YFC; under 21, Aeron Powell, Aberedw YFC and under 26, Will Lewis, Dolau YFC.

Then came the Section A pony judging, hosted by Dennis Price at Argoed Farm, Llanafan. Winners were: under 16, Josh Deakins, Teme Valley YFC; under 18, Liz Preston, Presteigne YFC; under 21, Gemma Price, Llanbadarn Fynydd YFC and under 26, Ellie Owens, Presteigne YFC.

Finally, the competition moved to Hendy Farm, Bettws, with the Williams family as hosts for the Welsh Black Cattle judging. Winners were: under 16, Ieuan Stephens, Teme Valley YFC; under 18, Annie Fairclough, Llanbadarn Fynydd; under 21, Rupert Owen, Dolau YFC and under 26, Knighton YFC.

Rally preparations are well underway at Ackhill Farm, Presteigne, for the 71st Annual Rally and Barn Dance, sponsored by Caleb Roberts Insurance Services on Saturday, June 8.

Chairman of Presteigne YFC Ted Davies said the club has been working hard to be ready for the rally and is looking forward to welcoming people from across the county to its fantastic rally site.
