BUILTH Wells raised more than £7,000 towards the Turning Three Towns Pink campaign for Cancer Research.
The town was decked out in pink bows galore, even the the famous bull statue was yarn-bombed for the week-long event.
“I’m so proud of my community,” said Glen Weale, from Builth Wells Co-op and Pink Week organiser, after the grand total of £28,060.76 was announced.
“Really chuffed to have been co-ordinating the Builth Wells part of making three towns pink. I am so proud of my community and would like to thank everyone who took part in some way.
“Thanks to Jayne from Tesco who got me involved in the beginning and convinced me to help as I was quite worried about the amount of work involved and to Carolyne my colleague Co-op pioneer in Rhayader.
“There was a huge amount of work that went in to it but once I started I could see what a wonderful idea it was and was totally driven by all the other people who gave up their time for such a worthwhile cause.”
