A motorbiker was killed following a road traffic collision near Sarn last night, police have confirmed.

Officers have appealed for information following the incident, which took place on the A489 between Newtown and Churchstoke at around 4.50pm on Tuesday, May 28.

The roads were closed around the scene for several hours while emergency services attended the scene. The victim has not been named.

Police have now appealed for witnesses and dashcam footage of the incident.

“Dyfed-Powys Police is investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the A489 between Sarn and Churchstoke at approximately 4.50pm on Tuesday 28th May 2019. The collision occurred outside the entrance to the Holy Trinity Church.

The collision involved a silver Vauxhall Astra and a silver & black coloured Suzuki motorbike. Sadly, the rider of the motorbike passed away at the scene.

Anyone who saw these vehicles or was in the area and has dashcam footage is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference 249.”
