It's the end of another successful day for Powys at the Urdd Eisteddfod in Cardiff Bay.

Two schools are taking home third place medals following the second day of competing at Europe's largest youth festival.

An excellent performance by Crossgates CP School pupil Lydia Brandreth earned her third place for the recitation for Welsh learners who are in years five and six.

Representing Montgomeryshire on the Wales Millennium Centre stage were pupils from Penygloddfa C.P. School. They won third place in the One Voice Choir (Parti Unsain) for Welsh learners.

Other schools flying the flag for Powys were Ysgol Dafydd Llwyd, Ysgol Trefonnen, Ysgol Glantwymyn, Ysgol Pontrobert, Ysgol Llanidloes, Ysgol Llanbrynmair, Ysgol Pennant, Ysgol Llanfair Caereinion, Builth Wells Primary School, Ysgol Rhiw Bechan, Ysgol Dyffryn Trannon, Ysgol Llanfaes, Ysgol y Bannau and Ysgol Pontsenni, and Ysgol Dyffryn y Glowyr.
