The A489 at Sarn was closed for several hours following a 'serious' collision involving two vehicles.
Emergency services including an air ambulance were at the scene.
Dyfed-Powys Police said at 11.30pm on Tuesday, May 28, that the road had re-opened.
Motorists travelling between Newtown and Churchstoke had experienced long delays following the incident in Sarn and were asked by police to find alternative routes.

According to Traffic Wales the A489 between Churchstoke and Newtown was partially blocked in both directions, leading to delays in the area, following an incident which occurred at around 5pm on Tuesday, May 28.
The report says: "Reports of partially blocked and slow traffic due to accident on A489 both ways at The Sarn Inn. Affecting traffic travelling between Newtown and Church Stoke."
