A lorry broke down on the Dyfi Bridge, near Machynlleth, causing the A487 road to temporarily close in both directions.
Police were directing traffic while a recovery team safely removed the lorry off the bridge.
The road has reopened in both directions.
Earlier, Traffic North and Mid Wales said on Twitter: "There is a broken down LGV on #A487 Dyfi Bridge, and the road has been temporarily closed in both directions. The Police are directing traffic in the area. Expect possible delays. Thank you for your patience. "
