THE acclaimed international pianist, recording artist, and advisor to the MUZA Kawasaki Symphony Hall, Noriko Ogawa presents a stunning programme to end the Machynlleth Music Club season, at the town's Y Tabernacl, on Friday, May 17.

Winner of the third prize in the 1987 Leeds International Piano Competition, she is now London-based as a professor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Noriko founded Jamie’s Concerts, a series for autistic children and parents, and is a Cultural Ambassador for the National Autistic Society.

Tonight’s concert programme will comprise Mozart’s 'Alla Turca' from Piano Sonata No. 11 in A major; Schumann’s 'Kinderszenen' Op.15; Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 23 in F minor, 'Appassionata'; Elgar’s 'Salut d’amour'; Rachmaninov’s 'Vocalise'; Debussy’s Arabesque No.1 Clair de Lune 'La Cathedrale Engloutie'; and Chopin’s 'Grande Valse Brillante' in E-flat major,

Ms Ogawa will also be back in October to open the Machynlleth Music Club’s 2018/2019 season.
