The head coach of Llanidloes Rugby Club is calling on the community to donate any old, un-used or unwanted boots and trainers which will be available for youngsters who don’t have access to sports footwear in Fiji, Kenya and South Africa.
Adam Gaca is an ambassador for the Barefoot Project which is an initiative that helps children and adults to get them involved in sports instead of having to do it barefooted.
“Last year at Llanidloes RFC we collected old boots to send out to Fiji,” Adam said. “This year with the season coming to a close we are collecting boots, trainers and sports shoes to send to Kenya and we thought it would be good to involve as many rugby clubs and schools in Mid and North Wales as possible.”
Clubs, schools, or organisations that would like to collect donations of sports footwear by the end of May, can arrange with Adam to pick them up.
