Famous Welsh singer Dafydd Iwan played an exclusive gig at a Welsh-medium primary school when he came to Newtown.
Regarded as one of the most iconic singer and song writers in Welsh culture, he is responsible for some of the most recognisable songs including Yma o Hyd.
During his visit to Ysgol Dafydd Llwyd, the folk singer and former politician played a selection of songs in front of an audience of pupils, staff and members of the community.
Dafydd Iwan has been singing since the 1960s when he was active with the Welsh Language Society and wrote protest songs. He is a former president of Plaid Cymru and has written more than 250 songs.
Mr Iwan was invited to the school to discuss the history of his song Hawl i Fyw to Year 5 and 6 pupils, whose Spring Term theme was The Right to Live, which is the title of the song.
