LLANIDLOES High School’s under 12 boys’ hockey team is officially the third best in Wales.
They competed against Christ College Brecon, Rydal Penrhos School and Bishopston Comprehensive School at the Hockey Wales National Schoolboys’ finals held at Newtown Leisure Centre.
The boys fired two goals past Bishopston’s keeper in their first pool game with a final score of 2-0, followed by a goalless draw against Colwyn Bay-based side Rydal.
In their final game, Christ College hit five goals past the Llanidloes keeper which saw the Brecon side run out as 5-0 winners.
After the pool matches, the final standings were Christ College (first), Rydal (second), Llanidloes (third) and Bishopston (fourth).
