A MENTAL Health Worker at Shropshire Council is to take part in the Great North Swim next month.
Jeanne Bradley, who works within Shropshire Council's mental health social work team is taking part in the swim to raise money for Oswestry and Borders Foodbank, as well as Designs in Mind, Chalk CIC and Qube.
She is hoping to raise a total of £4,000, to be spilt between the four charities.
Jeanne said: "I am the senior social worker for the north west area from the mental health social work team within Shropshire council. We provide a drop in hub at The Centre along with adult social care Shropshire recovery and housing.
"We work closely with colleagues who work in the local charities in Oswestry; Qube, Oswestry and boarders food bank, Designs in Mind and CHALK, who all work in a compassionate way to meet individuals needs.
"Therefore I decided to join up the do the Great North Swim 5k in Windermere in the lake district and decided to pool these great charities.
"I have already raised nearly £500 but am seeking to keep this rising as this is a real challenge to me.
"The swim will happen on the very same day that Oswestry is having it's charities market on June 7, where my colleagues will be linking in with me and the Oswestry charity market."
