Residents of Llanfyllin have kept the kettle boiling by holding a coffee morning in aid of charity.

The purpose of the coffee morning was to raise money for the NSPCC and dozens of members of the community squeezed into the Llanfyllin Institute to enjoy a hot beverage and a natter.

Pam Morris, event organiser, said: "The coffee morning is to raise funds for the NSPCC, to help vulnerable children.

"We've raised about £220, all from selling plants and cakes.

"We do it twice a year. It's a very good reason to come and have a chat on a Saturday morning."
