Hundreds of campaigners protesting about climate breakdown joined a colourful and noisy march through the streets of Machynlleth on Saturday, April 20.

Drums, flags and floats made their way down Heol Maengwyn as protestors held banners aloft demanding action on climate change.

The march, which started at Y Plas and continued as a walking procession through the streets of the town, was linked to a week long campaign of action by climate change protest group Extinction Rebellion which has brought the streets of London to a standstill as protestors demand the government address the issue of climate change as an urgent priority.

Demonstrators have camped in the streets, walked the roads and joined a "full scale festival of creative resistance, people’s assemblies, art and stage performances, talks, workshops and family spaces," during the week leading up to bank holiday weekend.
