WELSHPOOL Church in Wales Primary School is very proud to have achieved the Bronze Award in the Cymraeg Campus Language Charter.

A team of assessors visited all three sites of the school and were impressed by the level of Welsh used by pupils and staff.

The assessors noted: “Pupils are encouraged to use Welsh inside and outside the classroom as well as in after school clubs which contributes to the school’s strong Welsh ethos.”

Also praised in the report was the way that the school has “succeeded in establishing a strong visual Welsh ethos with bilingual signage and high quality displays”.

Headteacher Justine Baldwin said: “I am so proud of all our pupils and especially our Criw Cymraeg who have managed to raise the profile of the Welsh language throughout the school!

“The staff are amazing and it’s been a wonderful journey to go on altogether to reach our Bronze target!”
