POLICE are investigating after a large amount of lead was stolen from a yard in Oswestry.

Metal piping was also taken from the yard in Penson Walls, Park Avenue during the theft, which was reported on Friday, April 5.

A West Mercia Police spokesman said that the metal had been collected for artwork.

WINDOWS at several Oswestry shops have been damaged.

Shop windows in Legg Street, Arthur Street and Bailey Street were damaged overnight on April 5-6.

Glass was smashed or damaged but no entries or thefts were reported (0221s, 0316s, and 0350s 060419).

POLICE have appealed for information after a vehicle was broken into in Oswestry.

The vehicle was raided and searched during the break-in at Croeswylan Crescent overnight on April 8-9.

A West Mercia Police spokesman said that a door was damaged but nothing has been reported stolen (0251s 050419).
