Food businesses in Powys are being advised to be on the lookout for a fake food inspector who is demanding money for re-inspections.
The male scammer visits businesses and claims to work for the Food Standards Agency (FSA).
Powys County Council's Environmental Health Service have issued a warning saying that it is a scam.
In a post on Twitter, they said: "We're hearing reports of a man claiming to work for the FSA visiting food businesses and demanding money for a re-inspection, as failure to pay will result in a fine. THIS IS A SCAM!!
"If this happens, call us on 01597 827467 or tweet or environmental.health@powys.gov.uk"
