Pupils at Montgomery Church in Wales School have been doing their bit to keep the school tidy by taking part in the Daily Mail ‘The Great British Spring Clean’ campaign.

Children donned their wellies and got involved with some of the many activities, including litter-picking, planting seeds, a mini-beast safari and tally chart, making birdboxes, a willow dome, rain gauges and other wildlife activities with the Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust.

The campaign to fight back against litter has inspired the young eco warriors to help improve the environment on their schoolyard.

Seren, Year 6, said: “It’s been fun.

“We started off litter picking around the playground and up in the fields.

“It’s making our school greener and cleaner.”

Rhiannon, Year 5, added: “It’s important to take care of the environment. We’ve had a great time.”
