Winners of the World Book Day quiz hosted by Llanfair Caereinion Library have been announced.

Caereinion High School pupils Lois Birchall and Hannah Shirley Smith each won a £10 book token from Llanfair Caereinion Town Council.

Caereinion High School kicked off World Book Day with a quiz at the town’s library arranged by branch librarian Meg Ringrose.

Year 9 pupils went head-to-head in the quiz to test their knowledge of books and authors.

Town Council Chair Cllr Kate Roberts said: “It’s nice to be involved with the High School on behalf of the town council.

“It’s bringing the community back together again.”

She added: “We want to be more involved with the school because they are our future.”

Lowri Williams, head of English and drama at Caereinion High School, said: “I’m very pleased that the school has such a strong link with the town library in order to further improve our pupils’ literary skills.”
