Radnorshire’s young farmers came away with “excellent” results at the Wales YFC Public Speaking Day held at the Royal Welsh Showground in Llanelwedd.

Several Radnor YFCs will go ahead to represent Wales at NFYFC Competitions Day held in Stafford in July.

Emily Davies, from Dolau YFC, Joanna Thomas, of Cantal YFC and Penybont YFC’s Becky Duggan won the Junior Public Speaking competition, while Ella Harris, of Teme Valley YFC won the Situation Vacant competition.

Dancing their way to the top and heading to the finals in Stafford is Edw Valley YFC after taking the winning title in the Ballroom Dancing competition.

Robbie Savage, Radnor Valley YFC, Clare James, Howey YFC, Bethan Watson, Radnor Valley YFC, Hywel Watson, Llanbadarn Fynydd YFC and Ted Davies, Presteigne YFC, narrowly missed out on a top three position but gained a credible fourth place in the Senior After Dinner Speaking competition.

Sailing away to success is Eifion Davies, Rhayader YFC, who has been chosen to take part in the Sailing Challenge in a team of eight, setting off from Southampton heading to Lands End and then docking in Penarth.
