A THEATRICAL company is set to bring its tales of women through the ages to Oswestry.

Llanymynech Amateur Dramatics Society will perform Out of the Land and Fridge Magnet Syndrome at Kinokulture on Tuesday, April 9 at 7.45pm.

The evening starts with ‘Fridge Magnet Syndrome’, a monologue written by LADS patron, and respected voice and text coach, Michael Corbidge.

The piece, featuring Louise Stephenson, follows the life of a typical middle-aged woman, struggling with the changes that have come into her life after her children leave home. Louise Stephens gives an engrossing performance as the empty-nest mother, bringing wit and warmth to the role.

The second half is a blend of narrative, poetry, imagery and song. Polly Bolton and Gill McEvoy's piece centres on three real women from Shropshire’s past and their work has been brought to life by director Pam Johnson and Chloe Murray, the play's musical director.

Women's aid will receive 10 per cent of all proceeds from the show.
