A star of the MTV show Dirty Sanchez and host of the BBC’s first vegan cookery show will appear at Llanidloes’ first vegan festival.

Organisers say they are “delighted” to have Matt Pritchard at the three-day Mid Wales Vegan Festival signing his new book, Dirty Vegan.

The full line-up has been unveiled ahead of the opening event which is a pop-up vegan food night by Atia Shazad of Zainz on Friday, April 5.

Authors and speakers such as Karen Proctor, John Awen and Scott Bennet will give talks on Saturday, April 6, and Sunday, April 7, about nutrition, ageing, climate change and the food chain.

Syd Barnes will speak about his experiences about surviving cancer and leading a vegan lifestyle.

Exhibitors at the inaugural event at The Old Mill, include Coco Pzazz, Zainz Indian Cuisine, Wendy’s Bygone Bags, Renegade Kitchen, Sugar and Spice, Neal’s Yard, Cath’s Vegan Kitchen, Kirstie’s Welsh Mylks, Anu Rana Chinese and Indian Street Food, Extinction Rebellion, Miss Mix Alot Cocktails, Taylors Home Store and Sasha Alexander Vegan House.

Entry is £2.50 which covers entry to the festival at The Old Mill and any talks throughout the weekend.
