A PRISONER from Wrexham has admitted being controlling and coercive towards his partner over a two year period.

Robert Graham Jones is now to be assessed over the risk he might present in future.

Jones, 27, of Alwen, Plas Madoc, appeared at Mold Crown Court on a live television link from Berwyn Prison in Wrexham.

He admitted controlling and coersive behaviour on the basis of being violent towards her on various dates and controlling her use of social media and other communication devices.

Jones admitted wounding her in 2017, burglary at a house at Y Wern, Caia Park, with intent to cause damage, and damaging furnishings and fixtures.

Defence barrister Duncan Bould said his client was serving a sentence of five years and three months for drugs offences and wanted to know his fate.

But Judge Merfyn Hughes QC said a pre-sentence report was required to assess potential future risk,
