The A470 between Brecon and Nant-ddu has re-opened following a "serious" road traffic incident involving two cars.

Police in Brecon said two cars collided at the junction for Defynnog, south of Libanus, just before 9am on Wednesday, March 20.

Police, fire and ambulance services were at the scene of the incident.

Brecon Roads Policing tweeted: "We are currently dealing with a serious collision on the A470 at the junction for Defynnog just south of Libanus. Please use an alternate route we will update you when the road is back open."

Powys County Council Passenger Transport Unit says the road closure is "seriously affecting" the T4 and T14 bus services between Brecon and Merthyr.
