A Newtown business was celebrating this week - after being named Welsh business of the year at a prestigious awards ceremony.

CellPath Ltd were handed the gong at The South Wales Chamber of Commerce Welsh Business Awards 2018, alongside the Success Through Overseas category, in a glittering ceremony held at City Hall in Cardiff. During the ceremony businesses from across Wales were recognised for their innovation, growth and success.

CellPath Ltd company specialises in the manufacture and world-wide supply of products, to the histopathology and cytology markets. Their products help examine tissue samples from the body that ultimately support the diagnosis of diseases and medical conditions.

The University of South Wales supported the Welsh Business Awards for another year as the headline sponsor. Other sponsors included NPTC Group, Western Power Distribution, Pro-Steel Engineering, Associated British Ports South Wales, Construct A Quote, Heart Radio, Atradius, Bevan & Buckland, Milford Waterfront, and Effective Communication; who all sponsored individual categories of the awards.
