Pedalo boats at a popular Victorian boating lake are set to return this Easter.

Llandrindod Wells Town Council has announced that it has bought dragon and pelican pedalo boats for use on Llandrindod Wells Lake.

The town council said it has awarded Stuart Ingram, from Crossgates, the lease to operate the pedalos following last year’s success.

Jane Johnstone, clerk, said: “Following his great success, the town and its visitors can look forward to taking a trip on the lake once again this year.

She added: “The council hopes you will take the opportunity to support this local initiative.”

People have responded positively on social media to the news that the pedalos will be returning.

Bernadette Bridgewater praised Mr Ingram saying that he “did a great job last year, so glad he’s coming back”.

Lee Percy said: “Brilliant. Well done, Llandrindod Town Council.

“Really good investment and glad Stu Ingram will be back as he did a fab job last year.”

Linda Westlake added: “Used them a couple of times last year with family and friends. Such good fun for all ages! A blast from the past as I took my kids on there when they were little.”

The fun boats will be available for hire during the Easter period and the summer season.

A grant, secured by Powys County Council from the European Union, was partly used to fund the lease of six pedalos for use on the lake last year, as a trial.
