The pride of Powys food producers are set to join UK and international buyers, journalists, dignitaries and industry leaders for Wales’s largest international food and drink event.

Organised by the Welsh Government, BlasCymru/TasteWales takes place at the Celtic Manor resort on 20-21 March and will bring the entire industry under one roof to showcase the best of our nation’s growing food and drink offer. Featuring a high-calibre conference programme and showcases of quality products, innovation, skills and business support.

Over 100 of Wales’s top producers will be exhibiting their products, with Powys’ increasingly influential role in the sector represented by the likes of Hilltop Honey, Monty’s Brewery, Oaklands Farm Eggs Ltd, Radnor Hills Ltd, Radnor Preserves, Randall Parker Foods and Trailhead Foods.

William Watkins, Managing Director of Radnor Hills said: “It is really exciting to be involved and part of such a showcase event of producers in Wales but also a great opportunity to develop business partnerships and build success. It’s rare to have so many senior buyers from retailers and wholesalers together under one roof and I am very much looking forward to the opportunities it will bring.”

Confirmed delegates at the event include buyers and representatives from across Europe, the USA, Australia, Middle East and as far afield as Japan, affirming Wales’s place at the forefront of high quality food and drink production.

Hosting the event will be the Welsh Government’s Minister for Environment, Energy and Rural Affairs, Lesley Griffiths,

“Consumers are always looking for good quality and that’s why national and international buyers are increasingly turning to Wales. This was shown quite clearly following last year’s event, with the £14m generated for our producers exceeding all expectations. We are rightly proud of our produce and we know that the future success of the industry relies on getting them into as many new markets as possible, which is why TasteWales is so important to its future success.”
