Mid Wales train enthusiasts are being encouraged to dress in national costume, as a daffodil, leek or dragon on the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway to celebrate St David’s Day.
To mark the life of the Patron Saint of Wales, visitors to the Llanfair Caereinion Station can enjoy a Welsh flavour to the tearoom menu and there will also be special activities for the children.
With the leaves not yet showing on the trees, the beautiful vistas of the Mid Wales countryside that can be seen from the carriages have never been clearer.
All trains for this event start and finish in Llanfair Caereinion, travelling as far as Castle Caereinion, and depart Llanfair Caereinion at 11am, 12.45pm and 2.30pm. Train fares cost £9 for adults and £4 for children.
