A police investigation is underway following a report of a stabbing in Borth.
A 71-year-man was attacked while walking his dogs near Borth Wild Animal Kingdom at around 9.50am on Thursday, February 28. He was airlifted to hospital with injuries described, by the police, as being "serious".
A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm in connection with the incident and was in police custody.
Detective Insp Jon Rees, senior investigating officer, said on Thursday afternoon: “There has been a heavy police presence in Borth since this morning and officers remain in the village this afternoon to carry out house to house enquiries and establish more information about the attack.
"We made a swift arrest following the report to us and I would like to reassure the community we are not looking for anyone else at this time.
“I understand this is a concerning incident and would encourage anyone who is worried to speak to any police officer or PCSO in the area, who will be happy to help you.”
